Qigong Anyone?
I have been wondering about Tai Chi and Qigong for quite awhile and have listened to other people talk about the virtues of each. I see people doing Qigong in the park on Saturday mornings and although I have had great intentions of joining, I have never been bold enough to actually stop and join. I am one who believes everything happens for a reason so it didn’t surprise me when I came across a FREE two week Qigong package online. I decided to seize the moment and join before I could come up with all the reasons why I shouldn’t or couldn’t.
Much to my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed my first lesson and it left me revitalized and more energized than I have felt in a long time. I won’t kid you though, for me, it was a workout. I am not used to those slow body movements and mindful breathing techniques so when I completed each of the four 20 minute intro classes, I felt like I had done a full workout at the gym but not in a bad way; in the most positive way. I was really hoping to address my challenges with balance and one section really focused on that issue which was perfect for me. I don’t know whether it was a coincidence or not but I slept almost 9 hours last night. I did my sessions around 5:00pm and normally go to bed by 10:30pm but last night I felt the need to retire around 9:30pm. I was quite surprised when I woke this morning and the clock displayed the time of 9:15am. I am hoping this will be an ongoing benefit of the sessions.
I am excited about continuing my two week journey with my online classes and hope to get this practitioner to offer the classes on this website so everyone can enjoy them. Stay tuned as I progress through the series; I will give you an update on my status and my overall opinion of the entire series. If you are interested in the classes for yourself, email me and I will send you the link.
Namaste
