Such A Simple Solution

I was recently traveling for my son’s out of state wedding and as usual, the place we were staying had white towels.  I have never figured out why white is the preferred color since I cannot seem to find any cleaning solution to get stains out of anything white.  Now if you are anything like me, I really hate to mess up the towels and washcloths with remnants of makeup.  I try and use tissues, makeup removal wipes and anything else to avoid messing up their towels, but somehow there are still subtle marks on the towels despite my efforts.

To put my mind at ease now, I finally decided to provide myself a fix for any travel situation, whether a friends house, a hotel or Air B&B.  I went to Target and bought a pack of 8 dark grey washcloths and I make sure to always keep a pack of two in my suitcase so I will never be without them.  This way, I can wash my face freely and use my own washcloths without any reservations while keeping the towels white.  I keep my washcloths in a ziplock bag so I can transport them home to wash whether wet or dry.  The outcome is clean white towels for the hotel with no guilt.  Easy peasy.

It’s so simple, I have no idea why it took me all these years to figure it out.  Sometimes I think we are just too wrapped up in the problem to see the solution.  Being mindful of a situation can often lead to those “aha” moments that make us wonder why we hadn’t figured it out sooner.
