Checking Back In
Hi everyone
It’s been awhile since I have posted on my blog, it was a very long tax season this year so I have been extremely busy trying to meet all the deadlines for my clients. I am now in a place where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and breathe again. I am excited to be able to check back in with all of you. Spring has sprung as you all know and all the beautiful flowers are in their glory. The only problem that I have had so far with my new plants this year is trying to keep them from drying out too fast with all the winds and also trying to keep them upright when their pots aren’t heavy enough. I had decided to do an experiment this past winter and take alot of my flowers inside to protect them for the winter try and keep them alive until spring.
I set up a little area in my kitchen corner where the light comes in perfectly and arranged all my pots. Everything was great until the little gnats started coming around. I bought two grow lights and pretty much kept all the plants happy and alive but oddly enough, when I put them outside in the spring when the temperatures were nice, they declined rapidly and only a handful of them are still going.
In prior years, I did the same thing but put them in my greenhouse, but they all died despite my efforts to keep it warm inside throughout the winter. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has had success year to year keeping their beautiful plants intact throughout the winter. I have tried and pretty much failed both times now. Despite all that, I have planted new flowers this year and am enjoying every last minute of their glory.
