Summer Blooms
Hi everyone,
I am having a pretty good growing season so far this year with most of my flowers but a few of my go to choices didn’t fare too well this year for some reason. This beauty was something new I picked up this year. I have never had good luck with Bougainvilleas in the past but she was so pretty that I had to bring her home. I picked a spot in my yard where it gets morning sun and afternoon shade so it was protected during the hottest parts of the day. I am assuming that is what has kept her going and growing. I don’t know about you, but sometimes the tags on the flowers aren’t exactly accurate for everyone.

I chose alot of full sun plants this year for my patio but they all died within a week so I replaced them with the same plants, but placed them strategically throughout my yard with more protection and they are now thriving. I also noticed that when the tags say water twice a week when established, that just isn’t enough for the temperatures here in New Mexico; I have better luck watering a little every morning or every other day depending on the weather.
